Annmichele Gutsche, PhD, is an accomplished Market Research professional with 25 years’ experience across several industry verticals. Annmichele is currently an Associate Director of Market Research at Merck & Co. focused on the Diabetes program.
Annmichele began her career at Weight Watchers designing and analyzing consumer studies. She also held market research positions at TIAA CREF and The Brooklyn Hospital Center before moving to the vendor side. At TNS (formerly Chilton Research Services), Annmichele spent several years working in Advanced Analytics. At ICR Annmichele was Vice President of the Analytics Department.
In 2001, Annmichele pursued a market research opportunity in the pharmaceutical industry which has subsequently resulted in a 15-year career in pharma. At GlaxoSmithKline and AstraZeneca, Annmichele gained experience in a broad range of therapeutic categories including oncology, vaccines, metabolic and anti-infectives during all lifecycle phases for both the US and global markets. Her responsibilities included secondary data analyses, forecasting, market research (qualitative and quantitative), and competitive intelligence. In her current role as an Associate Director at Merck & Co. Annmichele conducts both primary and secondary research (quantitative and qualitative) as well as secondary data analyses for a prelaunch diabetes product.
Annmichele is a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College with degrees in both Psychology and Spanish. She earned a Master and a Doctorate degree in Applied Psychology from Hofstra University. Annmichele lives in Radnor, Pennsylvania, with her husband Stephen and 12-year old son Ethan, as well as a Bassett Hound and two cats.
